Bring Your Passion for Space! One of our clients is looking for a results-oriented, talented and driven Business Development Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with an international multi-functional team to allow the rapidly evolving space market to access truly world-changing new capability. The Business Development Lead (BDL) is responsible for leading the day-to-day identification, maturation, and closure of client’s space robotics opportunities. This role requires daily interaction with the General Manager, the engineering team, and the program management organization. The BDL will be responsible for developing and maintaining new customer relationships with an eye on existing wider client’s connection to identify opportunities for deeper strategic teaming. The ideal candidate will have a technical background to ensure understanding of, and compliance with, customer requirements.  Such a candidate will also be a passionate storyteller with strong empathic skills, ensuring that any proposed solutions will be directly relevant to a real customer need. The BDL will leverage connections across the industry to help foster new business opportunities for the client. Success in this position is essential for our business because it represents the direct connection between the customer and the products that we are building. Primarily this position aims to boost client’s sales in regions mostly in Europe.  However, candidates with experience and ability to help promote sales of client’s US products outside of the USA will be favourably received.

Tasks:
  • Generate new, high-volume customers for space-optimised robotic arms and electro-mechanical products

  • Generate a master schedule for customer sales and regularly report this to the General Manager and the engineering team

  • Coordinate unique sales strategy with the General Manager and client’s executives

  • Manage Sales Engineers to deliver to customer necessary sales documents

  • Oversee CRM database

  • Manage relationships, lead negotiations, and generate sales with several key customers

  • Build on existing European and Asian client’s customer relationships to increase sales of US products.

  • Identify and obtain all internal and external materials needed to close a customer sale

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, MBA or any other related degree
  • Held a sales role in the aerospace industry for at least 5 years
  •  Demonstrated experience working with large international aerospace primes, government agencies, and other aerospace entities.
  •  Demonstrated experience in closing multi-million sales projects in the space industry within the last 5 years
  •  Fluency in English
  •  Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal skill

Skills & Experience:

  • Currently in a sales position
  • Experience in US and/or Asian space sectors.
  • Fluency in German and/or French languages
  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in engineering discipline
  • Business degree (master or postgraduate)
  • Member of one or more of the following: AIAA, ISU-Alumni, Space Frontier Foundation, SEDS-Alumni, SGC, Secure World Foundation
  • Experience writing proposals and participating in contracts with government agencies and private companies
  • Extensive experience closing deals in the global aerospace market
